Ostara 2015

My altar was set up at midnight of March 20, 2015. The day prior I went for a walk outside looking for the evidence of Spring, you can see photos on my blog Cabin Fever Confessions. During my prayer & meditation I wore a ribbon crown, made with soft pink and yellow curled ribbons. I listened to a Ostara inspired YouTube playlist.

Using the selenite sphere gifted to me for me and my sweets 8th year anniversary, I cleansed my crown chakra. There is also a stone set out specifically for the fae. Spring time is a wonderful time to invite the magick of faeries into your life! Yesterday, I was looking at painted eggs from Russia in a local shop and completely forgot to purchase it for the altar. I think I will be making egg based foods today in honor of the season.

There were chants and displays of gratitude for the gifts that Spring brings us! Blessed Ostara to you all! Welcome Spring! We awaken you! Welcome Spring! We honor You!

Happy Solstice!

3 tealight candles

3 tealights, one with pepper, cinnamon and the last tealight is with catnip.

Happy Solstice! Blessed Yule! Happy Holidays!
We return to the light of longer days, to warmer days!
A time of hope and the future!

The photo is from my Instagram. My sweet and I had been having extremely troubling dreams for a few nights and we decided to do some cleansing of our bedroom. Under the bed, and in every corner. I like to call it “changing the air.” He used the smoke of an incense stick (we’ve been out of our normal sage bundle) and I lit 3 tealights. One with black pepper, (banishment/protection) the second with cinnamon (protection & to fill the space with sweetness & prosperity) and the third catnip – an offering to Freya, as it was a Friday and she is a goddess I pay homage too. A goddess of sex, love & beauty but also a fierce warrior! It all seemed very appropriate, and it worked. No problems since. I also like to use a white feather to move the air, creating circulation of movement, letting nothing stay stale or idle.

Cauldron of Underwear

I was in severe pain to that was accompanied by a headache, that was extremely oppressing.  Apparently, my chiropractor says that my muscles were over worked at yesterday’s treatment and massage. It was hours before I could see her and get the relief I so needed. Finally, after my visit with her I started feeling better. Resting was priority, but then overwhelming feelings and negative emotions over took me. Anxiety and self-hate creeped in.  I am really not sure why. I remembered a recent post by Silver RavenWolf (link) and performed her ritual. No photos for this one folks! However, I am feeling an improvement in my attitude.

The basics of the ritual: Take a pair of underwear of the person afflicted and boil in saltwater, while chanting. This will help to banish the negativity attached to the owner of the underwear.

Healing Light Burning Bright

My orange candle burning brightly, just as it was. No other edits outside of adding text.

“Healing Light, Burning Bright, Set Me Free of Pain Tonight ~so mote it be” ~ )0(
Is the chant I came up with looking at this lovely candle. I envisioned my pain being a tangible thing and burning up in the cleansing fire and carried away in the smoke. There are health issues and as mentioned, pain that I have been addressing.

Today, I had a massage. It was lovely, it was intense. During one point, the pressure was building but I felt my pain releasing. It was that time that I invited the goddess to join to me, to include her in the healing and soul-nourishing treatment.  Beautiful imagery of people with animal heads appeared to me in my mind’s eye. Still the height of the massage brought a bit more pain, it was during that time that I silently let go of so many things. The words swirled around in my brain until they were gone. Thankful to my masseuse for the treatment and to the goddess for her presence.

Limpia

I had recently came across a blog post regarding the subject matter of “Limpia.” (source) My feeling is that Limpia is not only a divination tool but also a cleansing ritual. It involves the use of an egg that is rubbed along the entire body, including the bottom of the feet. The egg is then cracked to reveal the troubles/problems/outcome. Tonight, I decided to perform this ritual.

1. I cleansed the area and myself before performing the rite, using smoke from an incense stick relevant to the ritual.
2. I laid a white paper towel on which I placed a small white bowl. Any white plate/bowl etc can be used. I made the personal choice to pour sea salt in the bottom of the bowl and added two bay leaves for purity and protection.
3. I placed a glass inside the bowl on top of the salt. I poured water which I blessed inside the glass. Water is holy and blessed on its own. I gave thanks to my easy access to clean running water and the life it provides. I also took a sip and drank it in, grateful.
4. When I cupped the egg in my hands I awoke it to its duties at hand. I immediately ran the egg all over my body, starting with my third eye. I rubbed the egg along my skin until I felt light and almost tingly. This in itself without the divination had a desirable positive result. I felt lighter.
5. I cracked the egg into the water. I took photos before placing on the floor. It is currently near my feet, when I go to sleep it will be under my bed to finish absorbing any negative energies.

I will update most likely tomorrow with photos of the egg after a night of absorbing any residual negative energies in the area as I sleep. This is my first attempt in a cleansing/divination like this. **Update 8-8-14**

egg divination

egg oracle, see the tear bubble – spirit/entity attached

See the large bubble connected to the yolk area – indicates a spirit or entity attached to the person. It could be either positive or negative.

I found a large black speck on the left side in this picture very close to the yolk – indicates an enemy.

many small bubbles indicate multiple physical attacks with milkiness showing use of magick

There were so many small bubbles and a milkiness in the glass this morning. The small bubbles indicate physical attacks, the more bubbles the more attacks. The milkiness indicate that magick was used against the person. It surrounds the yolk. I can’t decide it it’s actually negative. It seems somewhat protective but I could be confused. I also see birds which would show the act of being spied on.

My second thought is if it’s possible for the egg to absorb negativity/energies/forces at work from another person sharing the same bed. I am going to perform this ritual again on myself and my spouse.

Peace Water

Peace water is said to be the opposite or the antidote to war water. Peace water is basically layering of a blue liquid and a clear liquid/oil.  I found there are variations of the ingredients in peace water, specifically the dye used and the quality of water that the dye is mixed with.

While in my Internet research of peace water, I came across a video of a very simple recipe to make peace water at home. The video by Dawn Champine can be found on YouTube. All of the ingredients she used, I had on had at home so I decided to start there.

1. Re-purposed small jar (from capers or something)
2. Moon water from the Super Moon July 12, 2014
3. Blue food coloring
4. Oil ~ I used Star Extra Light Olive Oil

First, I cleansed my container and then filled about 3/4 of the way with the moon water and added too many drops of blue food coloring, it was very dark at first. I poured some of the colored moon water out *tsk tsk* and then added a little more until the level of blue I desired was achieved.

Following the blue water I then simply poured the olive oil on top of the water to the top and capped the jar. Being that the jar and lid were from another product previously, I decided to paint the lid and cover the logos printed on it. I used a dark blue nail polish and then followed with a pretty green glitter.

I made the peace water in the very late evening and it was hard for me to capture a really good photo, it’s much prettier in person.

This photo does no justice at all to the peace water, I just really enjoyed the dark blue night sky background. I had to use a second jar to hold it up high enough on the sill.

I have shaken the peace water several times since I’ve made it. The blue layer still looks very dark for a blue in this photo but I kind of like it. Currently, I have no other intended uses for this outside of sitting on my altar and shaking it as needed.

Salt and Pepper

There is a negative energy directed towards my home and us, as well. Tonight I decided to do some work in regards to such matters with a focus on the use of salt and pepper. There is a long history of salt having protective qualities, to read about using salt in magic visit here.  Black pepper is also known for banishing negativity.

1. I cleansed my home with a bundle of wild harvested sage (purchased here: non-affiliate link) while saying repeatedly “Lord moves thine evil influence!”

2. Followed by a physical cleaning of my home. My preferred method is to physically clean first but I felt I needed to cleanse with sage immediately and so I did.

3. Using a mixture of sea salt and black pepper I deposited pinches of it in the all corners of my home and laid it across the window sills.

4. Using a clean spray bottle I mixed what was left of the salt and pepper into water and sprayed down my doors and door jams and washed them. My front door was the last door I washed.

5. Silver dimes were laid under my door mats.

6. I threw salt out the windows and out the front door cursing the unwanted to never come back!

Once all of that was done, I drank in a cold glass of water feeling blessed and then showered and scrubbed with salt!
